VATTICA present their new song “Back to Life”. A rock song that is a perfect mix of classic 90’s and modern rock. This song has a real meaning, it tells us the story of the struggle that some people go through on a daily basis around their mental health.
Alexander Miller, leader of the band VATTICA and non-binary activist, explains the meaning of “Back to Life” saying, “‘Back To Life’ is about mental health, specifically struggling with OCD. It’s about realizing that sometimes facing your worst fears is the only way to destroy them before they destroy you”.
VATTICA draw inspiration from the authentic energy of iconic guitar bands from the 1990s and reimagine them with pop sensibilities. They are known for their anthemic music, evocative videos, and energetic performances for everyone hoping for and working towards a better tomorrow for their communities and world.
Their music explores the polarizing sociopolitical landscape we find ourselves living in today, and their social media vides about music, mental health, and the well-liked ongoing series ‘Self Made is a Toxic Myth’ have received millions of views on TikTok.
According to the band, the series aims to destabilise the narrative that governs how we speak, write, and consider the idea of “success” in popular music, under the guise of toxic individualism, which is a result of capitalism and a fundamental tenet of white supremacy.
