Brandon White and Meredith Meyer met each other for the first time at an illegal party in Brooklyn years ago. White was a member of the loud group Cuss Words, while Meyer was a singer-songwriter whose time in the post-punk-influenced band Young Unknowns was coming to an end. They ended up striking a conversation while waiting in line for the restroom, and that chance encounter eventually led to the birth of Easy Dreams.
Now based in Los Angeles, the duo has been steadily developing their sound, which can be described as a mix of vocal performance and instrumentation. Their debut full-length album, Sunformer, is set to be released on May 12 by their own label Yall Beat Records.
The album was produced by Adam Lasus, known for his work with Yo La Tengo, Helium, and Army Navy. According to Lasus, the songs on Sunformer “just kind of exploded and blossomed in a very natural way” during the recording process.
Today, Easy Dreams releases their latest single, “25 Moons“, which showcases their unique blend of vocals and instrumentals. The track is a testament to the duo’s ability to create music that is both captivating and soulful.
