Rising Belgian superstar Amery kicks off the new year with his first official single of 2018, the tropically-flavoured “Blame“. This latest single is the follow-up to his debut single “So Good” which has amassed over 1 million streams and “I Need Lovin’” which got a very encouraging review by THE Sir Elton John plus airplay on Belgian radio.
“Blame” reflects on an very one-sided relationship, with the track offering a magical blend of Pop sounds and African influences, a salute to Amery’s Rwandan heritage, with exotic cadence led by thick percussions and synth brass. Written with Amra Dorjbayar and James Lowland — who’s once again at the production helm, “Blame” is Amery is at his post personal.
“This song is very special to me because I was in a relationship where I felt like I gave so much while not getting anything in return.” Amery mentioned on his latest song. “‘Blame’ tells the story of a guy who did everything he could to please his girlfriend but as a result, she only seems to want more. So he starts wondering: ‘She’s not that into you? Maybe she’s playing with you?’. They’re just not connected to each other anymore.”
Amery has been tipped as an Artist to Watch in several Belgian publications and with a debut album definitely on the way later this year, 2018 will definitely be good to him. Have a listen to the new track below.
