The AmfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala, founded by Elizabeth Taylor in 1993, recently took place at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc. Carine Roitfeld, staged a black and white themed runway for the occasion, shared with Style.com. Speaking about the theme, Roitfeld said, “we did glamour and gold as a tribute for Liz Taylor; we did red and sexy for Marilyn Monroe; and now we do black and white, as it is the base of chicness”. Attendees at the Gala were able to have one (or more) looks from the runway, helping to raise money for AIDS research. Last year, the Gala raised $35 million for the cause, and I am sure that every gorgeous model who was there, was a massive media strategy.
