After writing and starring in the recent Judd Apatow comedy Trainwreck, which was far from a train wreck both critically and commercially, Amy Schumer’s next movie project is naturally getting a lot of attention from potential directors and co-stars all lining up to work with one of the funniest people in the world round now.
Director Jonathan Levine, best known for helming the Seth Rogen/Joseph Gordon-Levitt drama 50/50 and zombie romance Warm Bodies, is apparently the front runner to direct the new movie, an untitled comedy about a mother and daughter who get kidnapped whilst on holiday in Brazil.
Schumer will be playing the daughter – and casting rumours are speculating that Sally Field and Meryl Streep are among the actresses being considered for the mother. Working with Meryl Streep on only her second movie? It seems like Schumer is on the fast track to becoming a major movie star.
