After his latest film Wind River, director Taylor Sheridan is back with the action film To Those Who Wish Me Dead, based on the novel by Michael Koryta.
In the past, the director gave us the screenplay for Sicario as well as directing Ma and has now offered us the trailer for his next film. In it, we discover Angelina Jolie, in her first collaboration with Taylor Sheridan. She plays Hannah Faber, an expert firefighter whose role is to parachute into flames during fires.
Traumatized by one of her rescue missions where she failed to save three people from a fire, she isolates herself in a forest watchtower. It is there that she meets a 12-year old boy who witnessed a murder and is being pursued by two assassins, played by Nicholas Hoult and Aidan Gillen.
Together, they will have to avoid not only the traps of the two criminals, but also the forest fires that surround them.
These first images promise scenes of muscular action in the forests of Montana. It is not the first time that we find Angelina Jolie in an action film, but this project was very special for her: “I’ve done action in fantasy, this was different because it was real”, she confesses.
The shoot would have involved building a fake forest to set fire to and lots of dangerous stunts.
The film will be released in US theaters and on HBO Max on May 14. You can watch the trailer here:
