Jennifer Lawrence, has been very open about how anxious she felt before shooting her first sex scene with Chris Pratt, and how she coped with it (it involved a bottle of whiskey). What made the experience even more stressful was the fact that Pratt is a married man.
Well after yesterday, Lawrence can hopefully relax a little. It turns out that she doesn’t need to worry about offending Pratt’s wife, the wonderful Anna Faris – who totally understands that it’s just part of the job. On the latest episode of her Anna Faris Is Unqualified podcast, Faris was joined by Aubrey Plaza (Pratt’s TV-wife), Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence for a friendly chat.
Calling in from the Passengers set in Atlanta, Pratt jokingly said, “What other guy in the world could say that he’s on the phone with Anna, my real wife; Aubrey, my TV wife; and [speaking to Lawrence] well, we’re not married in this movie”. Faris kept things light, and the foursome discussed Star Wars and bleach, is there bleach in space?
In a series of rapid fire questions, Faris, asked Lawrence what she would name her school mascot if she was the principle of a high school, “the pippies,” (after her dog). Lawrence went on to reveal her music guilty-pleasure, “I just said to Chris the other day that ‘I wish I didn’t have so much Indigo Girls on my phone'”, and also revealed that she “accidently downloaded Westlife”. While on the subject, Pratt treated us to a wonderful rap.
Faris ended her series of questions on a darker more morbid note, “I’m going to give you four objects of murder,” Faris said. “Oh awesome, yes, I’ve been preparing for this for most of my life” Lawrence exclaimed. Faris, then gave her the following options; knife, blunt object, car, poison. She choose “If I could pull it off, poison” but added “What’s most likely is car by accident”.
Although, Faris didn’t grill Lawrence on the now infamous sex scene, she and Plaza spoke earlier in the show about what it’s like to be intimate with other actors, on-screen. “I feel like it’s only really weird when other people think that it’s really weird,” Faris said. “Then I get nervous and I’m like, ‘Wait, am I supposed to feel like it’s more weird than it is?’”
Plaza concurred. “I’m in a relationship, and people always ask my boyfriend how he feels,” she said. “He’s kind of like, ‘That’s her job, and it’s not weird.’ I think if you don’t understand that, then it’s probably hard to be in a relationship with someone that’s an actor. You know. I’ve seen it go both ways, if it’s like, if you can’t separate reality and what you’re doing, it’s hard to live normally, I think”.
Check out the full podcast below, the call with Lawrence and Pratt begins around the 36:35 mark. Enjoy!
