A new trailer has arrived for Denis Villeneuve‘s Blade Runner 2049 starring Ryan Gosling, revealing new dialogue, pacier sequences and this time focusing a little more on Harrison Ford‘s return as Deckard. We also get a look at Dave Bautista‘s typically action-based appearance, as well as blind Jared Leto in his first major post-Suicide Squad role.
Villeneuve’s (and famed director of photography Roger Deakins‘) aesthetic, and especially Jóhann Jóhannsson‘s score, are beautiful and seem to be perfectly in line with Ridley Scott‘s original vision. Villeneuve’s recent output has been nothing short of excellent, and if his great run continues, he’ll leave plenty of Blade Runner fans very happy.
The official synopsis for the film is as follows:
“Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years”.
The film also stars Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Ana de Armas and Syliva Hoeks. The much anticipated sequel finally arrives in cinemas Friday, October 6.
