“Unite the seven…” Realistically, we’re a good three years away from the release of director James Wan’s Aquaman and sadly, very little is actually known about the upcoming movie. Set for release in 2018, the film will star Game of Thrones’ Jason Momoa as King of the Seas; who will make his debut in DC’s and Warner Bros’ Batman V Superman:Dawn of Justice (2016) and will be directed by James Wan; who has been responsible for Saw and Insidious.
However, keen to keep Aquaman fans interested and speaking with Collider, the film’s producer Charles Roven has provided us with a little bit more information regarding the film’s progress and explains what a busy bee Wan has recently been.
“We’re very early days. We’re just starting with the screenplay. He’s making The Conjuring 2 now, so he’s had his hand in the creation of let’s just call it a working document from which to write. But he’s directing that film and he’s got his hand ever so slightly in the development, but he’s really gonna throw himself into it after he finishes shooting Conjuring 2. And we’re planning on it being his film after Conjuring 2. He is a serious Aquaman fan”. Currently Aquaman is scheduled for release on July 27, 2018, so expect a lot more updates before then!
