Arlo Parks Delivers Touching Performance Of ‘Hope’ At 2021 BRIT Awards | Music News

At this year’s BRIT Awards ceremony, Arlo Parks gave a stunning emotive performance of her single “Hope” at London’s 02 Arena on Tuesday, on a stage surrounded by sunflowers and a brass band. The song speaks to many people in many different situations, with themes around the fear of being alone, mainly caused by the pandemic and mental health struggles.

Arlo, who won the first award of the night ‘Breakthrough Artist’, also offered a special spoken word section towards the end of the song, talking about the themes of the coronavirus quarantine, loneliness and hope. The performance was very inspiring because the lyrics were so strong and assertive on an optimistic idea that we are all together and to keep strong, which is what we all needed to hear.

According to Arlo Parks, “We have been so quietly strong for so long, watch the white of the walls you stare at the phone on zoom or on calls although we’re apart, although we’ve felt small, we burn bright with light, we’ve learned how to talk, we’ve all thought to bloom together and tall… There’s dark in the world but love makes us grow… you’re not alone”.

On the fashion side, Arlo burst onto the red carpet showcasing her amazing style in the bold red blazer and matching wide-leg trouser set,  with one drop earring and several gold rings. As well as her ‘Breakthrough Artist’ win, she was also nominated in the ‘Female Solo Artist’ and ‘Mastercard Album of the Year’ categories for her debut record Collapsed In Sunbeams.
