As the 2015 BET Awards went live on Sunday night, August Alsina took the opportunity to premiere the music video for his latest single “Hip Hop”. The track serves as the first release from his forthcoming and currently untitled sophomore LP.
Directed by Payne Lindsey, the visual for “Hip Hop” takes the singer-songwriter to his home town New Orleans where he hits the block in a pair of overalls and reminisces on the days when Notorious BIG got shot and puts a spotlight on police brutality. Overall an incredible visual and it’s good to see August has no issues going back home and affirming his point of view on current affairs. August did confirm in a recent interview that the anticipated project is finished, now we will just have to enjoy the video and wait for more. Your thoughts?
