Roska has donned the Bakongo moniker again for a new effort, following outings from Arma, Callahan and label head honcho Mele. Things begin with African tribal percussion, and some claps of the drum machine. The electronic hi-hats kick in, too, to punctuate the pockets left by the tribal drums.
Vocal samples then kick in, sliced up and chopped like in a hip-hop or dance context. After that are subtle changes to the drums, before yet more vocal chopping. These then appear to be used in a scratching context before the drums get a tad industrial, almost like old school computer game effects.
