The first trailer for the upcoming BBC 2 comedy inspired by the life of journalist, writer and radio DJ, Danny Baker, has finally been released. The 8-episode series is an adaptation of Baker’s autobiography Going to Sea in a Sieve. The series is set in 1974, full of 70’s fashion, music and East-end family shenanigans. Peter Kay and Lucy Speed star as Danny’s parents – Fred ‘Spud’ Baker and Bet Baker.
Other series regulars include Laurie Kynaston, as 15 year old Danny, Frankie Wilson as his brother, Michael and Alice Sykes as his sister, Sharon. You’re probably thinking “Peter Kay? Really? He’s far to Northern for this“, but you’re wrong. Watch him brilliantly take on the cockney person in Cradle To Grave here. The series is set to air later on this year on BBC 2!
