Beyoncé, according to press reports, “has been in top-secret rehearsals” leading up to tonight’s (Sunday, August 28) show. Earlier this summer, Beyoncé weighed in with a remarkable version of “Freedom”, featuring Kendrick Lamar, at the BET Awards.
Regardless of whether she performs, Jay Z’s other half is likely to be the talk of the night. Being a frontrunner this year, after all, with 11 nominations for her work on LEMONADE, certainly guarantees this.
Others involved include Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Nick Jonas, Future, Ty Dolla $ign, Britney Spears plus more. Rihanna will also perform and be honoured, with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in memory of the late pop superstar.
You can watch the ceremony in its entirety on MTV UK during the Bank Holiday tomorrow (Monday, August 29). The preshow starts at 20:00, with the awards show in full starting at 21:00.
