Blossoms, the five-piece rock band who hail from Stockport in Manchester, have released the title track from their upcoming EP: “Charlemagne”, a name which feels incredibly satisfying to say. The band have no distinct genre, describing it as “Ethereal Nostalgic Sonance” on their Facebook page, but “psych-rock” seems to work well for others.
Whatever the genre, the song has an 80s feel and could act as a slow-paced disco tune. The chorus has a catchy riff but maintains its laid-back rhythm as the vocals bounce along each word. Charlemagne EP made it to number one in the iTunes Alternative Album Chart and will be released on October 30. To pre-order, click here and listen to “Charlemagne” below.
