A new clip has been uploaded to the Facebook page of Travis Cluff and Chris Lofing‘s eagerly awaited new found footage horror The Gallows. The film follows the story of Charlie, a boy killed during the performance of a small town school play called The Gallows in 1993. In 2013 the school attempts to revive the play in order to misguidedly honour the anniversary of the tragedy. A few students however, break into the school in order to sabotage the production, and realize some things are better left alone.
With a cast of Reese Mishler, Cassidy Gifford and Ryan Shoos, playing characters also named Reese, Cassidy and Ryan, amongst others, the film is produced by Blumhouse and New Line Cinema – the companies that brought you the Insidious, The Purge and Paranormal Activity franchises.
The new clip contains footage of three girls in a prop storage room, looking at costumes and trying things on in a carefree manner. One of the girls, Nicole, then asks, “hey is this Charlie Grimille’s costume?” and is told in response not to say his name. That’s when things get a bit creepy. You can watch the clip here. The Gallows is set for a July 10 release.
