Bo Aganaba, is a Canadian singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who was originally born in England and then moved to Canada at the tender age of 10 years old. Aganaba has just released his new track “Clockwork” which you can listen to below.
We asked Aganaba about how he got into performing and writing music in which he said: “My musical journey started in classical piano. Then in high school I started playing in punk and metal bands. After leaving high school I started performing acoustic folk songs, eventually releasing a solo acoustic album. Since then, I’ve turned towards groove based music, worked on my production abilities, and put soul at the centre of my music”.
When asked about his musical influences he added: “With the technology that we have these days, it’s so easy to have an eclectic taste in music. I love the “neo-soul” movement: Bilal, D’Angelo, Dilla, Erykah Badu, etc. as well as alternative and jazz. I think Bill Evans was the baddest cat in the world”. adding, “I love the Canadian music scene. There’s a camaraderie between musicians that’s really nice. Because the big cities are so spread out, it feels like each city becomes a sort of family of musicians”.
Bo is due to releasee a a 6-song EP in the near future, and is definitely one to look out for with his smooth, relaxed soulful tracks. You can follow him here on Facebook and here on Twitter.
