It has been eight years since Brand New has had any big releases; their last studio album, Daisy, came out in 2009. The band managed to fill the gap with two non-album singles – “Mene” in 2015 and “I Am A Nightmare” in 2016 – but it clearly wasn’t enough.
After such a lengthy absence, Brand New finally released their fifth studio album, Science Fiction, on the 17th of this month. Fans were given only two days to get their pre-orders in, and no one was aware of the album title or the track listing until the last moment.
As expected, Science Fiction shot straight to the #1 slot on the charts, making it Brand New’s first ever album to reach the top. Science Fiction is available to listen to on both Apple Music and Spotify.
