An inventive electronic music composer, Paul Fishman is back in the limelight with his stirring new single “Poverty“. Featured on his forthcoming album, Abnormal, the single shines the spotlight on the talented young artist, Huxley Matchett.
Dedicated to the UK charity “Shelter“, the song vociferously raises concerns about poverty and its underlying causes. It drives home the point that poverty is ubiquitous and yet, despite having the means to mitigate it, society allows it to persist.
The track is a forceful commentary on the injustice and irrationality of such indifference. Paul Fishman lends his voice and instrumental skills to the track, with Todd Oliver providing guitar backing.
Recognizing and nurturing talent, even at an incredibly young age, is vital. Huxley’s vocal abilities became evident when he recorded the vocals for this track at the tender age of 14, exemplifying this belief.
Fishman is no stranger to the music industry. As a composition student at the Guildhall of Music, he became a founding member of London’s Cockpit Theatre’s experimental music ensemble.
His musical journey has been punctuated with milestones, such as the release of his debut album In Search of Ancient Gods under the Warner Bros. Records label during the same period.
In the 1980s, he established the new wave band, Re-Flex. The band rocketed to international fame with the success of their hit single and album, “The Politics of Dancing“. From this album alone, five singles made it to the top 10 in various countries and regions.
Fishman’s illustrious career also boasts composing original music for more than 100 films and producing music for some of the most acclaimed musicians.
His recent focus on solo projects culminated in the 2020 release of the electronic-inspired album It’s About Time, issued in two parts. Presently, he is gearing up for the launch of his newest venture, Art Official Intelligence.
