“Woods Cove” is the brand new single of indie artist and newcomer Maesyn G, inspired by a beach called Woods Cove in California.
Artist Maesyn G, who was born and raised in Orange County (California), has been passionated for music since her childhood. She grew up in a very musically household with her father, being part of a local reggae band.
With only 13 years, she wrote her first lyrics. Since then she continuously improved her skills as musician and progressed with various genres of music. Furthermore she extended on her vocals with singing in a church band.
In her official first single, released by ATM Music, Maesyn G offers us a dreamy merge of alternative with indie and R&B elements. Her honest style of songwriting is mostly dealing with personal experiences, past relationships as well as family matters.
“Woods Cove” is a first insight into this personal world and much more music which is on the way. The chilled tune with R&B character comes with sensual vocals and summer nostalgia, telling a story about Maesyn G’s favorite beach in her home city.
“The ease of being at this beach has allowed me to put my past experiences into lyrics. It is never too loud, so the ocean is heard above everyone else. I like to go alone and take in the sun as put my heart into creating songs,” she says about the importance of that beach for her.
