Canadian rap newcomer Zach Zoya has released his second official single “Le Cap”. In the powerful hip hop tune, he shows his talents in rapping and singing with energetic rap parts and charming vocals again.
Zach Zoya grew up in a French-speaking city in the northwest of Montréal. He was musically influenced by the African music of his South African father who fled to Canada during apartheid and of North American soul and pop music by his French-Canadian mother.
Even though French was Zoya’s first language and more established in the Montréal music scene, he decided to rap in English. He reminded his flows by covering records by Kendrick Lamar and Drake – in first line he wanted to be an all-around vocalist.
Until now Zoya gained support of 7ième Ciel, a powerhouse label in French rap and collaborated with platinum producer High Klassified (Future, The Weeknd). Furthermore he earned finalist position for the FEQ Rising Star Award at Festival d’été du Québec and performed live at several festivals.
Zoya showcases outside-the-box rap and breaks boundaries between genres. His style is influenced by alternative, indie and R&B music and is more or less genreless. In “Le Cap” he delivers on-point rap parts and a tight flow through the hole song which is produced by his close collaborator and Parisian producer Bougo. Listen to the song below.
