Nominees for this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards have been revealed and US artist Cardi B is leading the pack with the most nominations.
Even though she hasn’t released any album this year, Cardi is killing it anyway with her three international bangers “Money”, “Press” and her collaboration with Bruno Mars titled “Please Me”.
Cardi B already took four trophies at last year’s ceremony and it looks like the “Money” hitmaker is going to clinch more victories this year with her 10 nominations, including ‘Hustler of the Year’, ‘MVP of the Year’, ‘Best Collab’, ‘Hot Ticket Performer’ and the ‘Made-You-Look’ award.
After earning eight nominations in 2018, Drake has reached third place on this year’s list with seven nominations, while Travis Scott, J. Cole and DJ Khaled are sharing the second position with eight nominations each.
According to Billboard, there is a new category this year called ‘Best International Flow’, set to recognise artists from outside the US such as British, Canadian or French stars.
The 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards will take place on October 5 at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Center and it is due to air on October 8 on the BET Networks at 8 p.m. ET.
