The Grammy award-winning rapper, Cardi B announced via Instagram that she will be dropping new music, this Friday. The single titled “Press” is said to be the first song from the follow-up project to her debut album Invasion of Privacy.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper posted a picture of infamous serial killer Aileen Wuornos on Twitter, and she also posted a ‘cover’ of the single on Instagram, with the caption “PRESS SINGLE AND OFFICIAL ART WORK DROPS THIS WEEK ON 5/31!!!”. The picture posted is of Cardi B in a leopard jumpsuit wearing handcuffs in the courtroom.

As VIBE Magazine figures out, the photo appears to reference a similar shot of Wuornos, a former sex worker who was sentenced to death in 2002 after being convicted for the murders of seven men. She claimed the reason for the killings was in self-defence after the men raped or attempted to rape her.
In 2003, a movie about Wuornos was made titled Monster by Patty Jenkins, the Wonder-Woman director, in which the serial-killer was portrayed by Charlize Theron, who won an Academy Award for the role. Maybe Cardi B’s usage of the photo is a reference to the rumours that the rapper said that she drugged and stole from men during her stripper past life to survive.
During a recent interview with Variety, the rapper shed light on her new album, “Of course it’s gonna be an album in 2019. Hopefully, I could get my album done around the same time that ‘Invasion of Privacy’ came out, but I don’t know how possible that’s gonna be because I feel like I’m going to be extremely, extremely busy”.
She also recently shared a video on Instagram teasing the song via a studio performance, which you can watch below.
