Ahead of the release of her tenth album, American multi-talented artist Cat Power has revealed its first track, titled “Woman“, that is also a collaboration with the amazing indie singer Lana Del Rey.
“Woman” is a female hymn, where Lana’s voice features as the intense chorus and Cat sings as the protagonist; the accompanying clip is a rooftop sunset scene, that captures Cat’s performance and simply matches with the smooth rhythm of the song.
The duet is a good demonstration of two good alternative female voices, and the two seem to be good friends according to some posts they have both published to anticipate and then promote the single.
Wanderer is the awaited return of Cat Power, who is a musician and songwriter in her own right, but has previously worked as model and actress too. It will be her first new album in six years.
Landing October 5, it is a 11 track compilation, and the final result of many important collaborations, and more precisely, according to Cat, of “longtime friends and compatriots”.
Produced by Domino Record Co., Wanderer was written and recorded in Miami and Los Angeles. What’s more? In support of it, Cat will embark on a North American tour beginning next month.
Stay tuned and go on following this strong presence in the music scene. Ten albums are a good point of arrival and motivation to go on as well.
