Director James Gunn recently took to Instagram to reveal the logo that will be carried by Marvel epic sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and boy it’s one heck of a doozy. Presenting eager fans with the logo that has been stitched on to a set chair, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 seemingly uses a style commonly found in 80’s typography.
This signifies how much the film is set to maintain its very retro take with its style and soundtrack, which is further supported by Gunn’s reference to Whitesnakes song “Here I Go Again” accompanying the announcement. Set for a release date on May 5, 2017, the film will see the return of everybody’s favourite heroic misfits.
Many rumours have been circulating regarding what maybe happening within the story, such as the possible appearance of an MCU veteran, to the idea that Kurt Russell will appear as Peter Quill’s father. But all in all, exciting developments are on the way and a lot of throwback tunes too!
