The year of Childish Gambino shows no signs of slowing down as we approach the release of his next album, now a mere fourteen days away.
We received the album-opener, “Me And Your Mama”, last week, and next up from the forthcoming …Awaken, My Love! is “Redbone”, which was premiered on Annie Mac’s acclaimed BBC Radio 1 show.
If “Me And Your Mama” roused your emotions, then expect to sit back in the groove a little more this time round. You earned it. The song features Gambino singing towards the top of his vocal range with heavy effects applied, containing both elements of soul and funk blended together almost seamlessly.
After the release of two songs from the upcoming project, it does seem as though this will be the most accomplished effort to date from Mr. Glover. Roll on Friday, December 2.
