R&B sister duo Chloe x Halle made a surprise announcement on February 22 that one of the songs of their latest album was finally going to get a music video, and Chloe x Halle premiered the music video for “Ungodly Hour” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon two days later on Wednesday, February 24.
Sisters Chloe and Halle bailey are a pop-infused R&B duo from Atlanta whose big time came when Beyoncé noticed one of their covers on YouTube and signed the girls to her Parkwood Entertainment Label in 2013.
Chloe x Halle released their debut album The Kids Are Alright in 2018 and earned their first two career Grammy nominations for Best Urban Contemporary album and Best New Artist.
Their debut LP was followed by their seminal 2021 work Ungodly Hour. This year, the duo has three Grammy nominations in Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best Progressive R&B Album and Best R&B Song, with big chances of getting one of the Grammies.
The siblings duo shine through the incredible futuristic music video, directed by Alfred Marroquín, who is famous for his works with Rosalía, A$ap Ferg, Omar Apollo and Rauw Alejandro. The sisters’ stunning and sensual choreography and authentic looks make an absolutely hypnotizing visuals and complement the track.
The song “Ungodly Hour” was written by Chloe, Halle, Nija Charles and Mark Spears and produced by Chloe herself. The song talks about loving someone with all their flaws laid out the table: “When you decide you like yourself (holler at me)\when you decide you need someone (call upon me)\when you don’t have to think about it\love me at the ungodly hour“.
