Actor Chris Hemsworth, who we all know for his role in Marvel films as Thor, is teaming up with Girls Trip‘s Tiffany Haddish for a buddy cop comedy titled Down Under Cover that’s being presented to buyers at the Cannes Film Festival.
Hemsworth will play as a detective who goes undercover to investigate a group of male Australian erotic dancers, who he suspects are involved in a series of casino heists. Haddish will play a lone wolf cop who Hemsworth reluctantly accepts as a partner.
Hemsworth currently stars in Avengers: Endgame and recently signed on to play Hulk Hogan in an upcoming biopic about the wrestler. Haddish, meanwhile, stars alongside Ali Wong in the recently released animated Netflix comedy series Tuca & Bertie and is producing an upcoming stand-up series for the streaming network called They Ready.
Down Under Cover is being produced by Thematic Entertainment, with the collaboration of Hemsworth, John Finemore, James Hoppe and Ben Grayson. Haddish is also producing alongside them, representing the UTA and Artist First. While Hemsworth is repped by CAA, Fourward, and Greenburg Glusker.
Down Under Cover is without a director at the moment, and no release date is set. The film will be sold to distributors at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival. So, we just have to wait for more news as this develops.
