A proponent “of the swelling house revivalist movement”, Chris Malinchak has released many tracks in the last few months including “Tell Me”, featuring Storm Queen vocalist, Damon Scott; “Please You” and “Remember Red”. With his EP set for a 2017 release, Chris shares “Happiness”, featuring vocals from rising UK singer, Kaleem Taylor.
“Happiness” has pounding bass drum, percussion like sleigh bells on Christmas Eve. The singing has a certain festive joy to it, very much suiting the track title. Clapping reinforces the rhythm, more emphatic. The relatively sparse arrangement lets the vocals breathe and soar. A piano refrain similarly stretches. A certain ringing melancholy rings out for the end.
