Cyndi Lauper‘s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” is one of the most upbeat songs of the early 80’s, but synth band Chromatics have changed it into a slow, floaty tune. It’s as if the Lauper version is on whilst the girls are out, then the Chromatics’ version plays when they’re winding down in bed.
The music video looks like a dream-sequence, which fits well with Ruth Radelet‘s soothing, far-away vocals. If the song sounds familiar, that’s because one of the covers was used in the MANGO commercial starring Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne. Chromatics will be releasing seven different versions of the cover on their upcoming single which drops on November 6. Watch the music video below.
