Nigerian Afro-Fusion artist Cill marks International Children’s Day with the release of her poignant new single, “ÉchÍ.”
Translated from Igbo as “tomorrow,” the track weaves soulful melodies with impactful lyrics, spotlighting sustainability and the pressing need for mindful decisions to secure the future for younger generations. Featuring the vibrant voices of children from the Destiny Trust Foundation, “ÉchÍ” extends beyond music, serving as a rallying cry for environmental stewardship and societal transformation.
The music video amplifies this message, filmed against the haunting backdrop of the oil-damaged Bodo Community in Ogoniland. Here, the visual narrative juxtaposes scenes of environmental degradation with glimmers of hope, a reflection of the urgency and promise inherent in the song’s call to action.
Backed by Accountability Lab Nigeria, the Ford Foundation, and Luminate, the project underscores the life-changing mission of the Destiny Trust Foundation, an organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable Nigerian children through education and holistic care.
