“Preludes” opens with the clatter of drum and something sounding akin to a woodwind vibe. It is driving and a stroke from emphatic due to the track’s downbeat nature and dragging heels feel. The vocal delivery and lyrics are, in turn, a stroke from impassioned due to the overall despondency of the performance.
