After her breakout role as Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Daisy Ridley is pursuing more projects to launch a career of acclaim. Now, she has joined Daddio, an oddly named drama from playwright Chisty Hall.
Daddio follows a woman who, on a journey from JFK airport to her Manhattan airport, has an enlightening conversation with her cabdriver. They discuss their relationships, past and present, and the effect they’ve had on their lives. It’s a good old journey of discovery movie. Road trip. Very original.
Ridley could shoot Daddio before production on Star Wars: Episode IX, if all goes to plan. Otherwise, she can next be seen in Kenneth Branagh’s Murder on the Orient Express this November, and then Star Wars: The Last Jedi this December.
