Blur frontman, Damon Albarn, has announced plans to release his Wonder.land musical soundtrack. Out on Friday, April 29 via Parlophone, Songs From Wonder.land, brings together music from Albarn’s musical, which launched last summer.
The musician’s Wonder.land was a reinterpretation of the Alice In Wonderland tale, by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym of Lewis Carroll in 1865. Albarn’s version tells the story of Aly, aged 12, who expires a “virtual world” after being “bullied at school and unhappy at home”.
It debuted at Manchester International Festival last July, before being shown at Manchester National Theatre’s Olivier Theatre, and Paris’ Théâtre du Châtelet.
