After the release of Spectre, James Bond star Daniel Craig made his exhaustion with the spies mantle clear. And he definitely means it with the actor taking a break from Bond to sign onto lead a limited TV series.
Variety reports Showtime is in talks to produce an adaptation of Jonathan Franzen’s novel Purity starring Craig, written by In the Bedroom writer and director Todd Field and produced by Scott Rudin.
The novel tells the story of a young woman named Purity drowning in student debt, squatting in Oakland, USA, and searching for her father who lands an internship in South America that puts her in contact with a charismatic Leader. By definition, Craig will be perfect for that role, but details are scarce so anything could happen.
