Fans of SyFy channel and its namesake genre will be excited to learn that the channel has announced the return of two of its newest shows Dark Matter and Killjoys for a second season.
Based on the graphic novel of the same name, Dark Matter has proven a ratings hit with 1.8 million viewers, watching the exploits of six people waking up on a derelict spaceship with no memory of who they are or how they got on board. Created by the men behind the cult classic series Stargate franchise (Joseph Mallozzi, Paul Mullie), Dark Matter led the charge in SyFy’s initiative to bring original drama to a channel that of late had been reliant on reality TV shows and B-Movies of-the-week.
For its second season, Dark Matter will receive a 13-episode run with Killjoys receiving another 10-episodes. Although not as successful as its predecessor, Killjoys enjoyed an 1.5 million viewership who tuned in to watch the trio of Bounty Hunters hunt down fugitives to edge of space that threatens to crumble under an impending class war. Both series will debut their second season in 2016.
