This week was yet another exciting mystery, solved by DI Goodman and the team, with a little help from Aunt Mary! This episode began with the arrival of Humphrey’s aunt, to whom he was very close as a child. Plans to spend a relaxing time on the island are compromised when Mary becomes the only witness to a murder in her hotel. As usual, at first nothing about the murder makes sense, there was no obvious motive and no immediate suspects for Humphrey to investigate.
There was however a clue very near the beginning that eagle eyed viewers will have noticed, and possibly can tell you who the murderer was. This was more obvious than usual, but would still leave an audience confused as to how it was possible for someone to enter a hotel room without a key card. Where normally right from the beginning there are several suspects, out of which one has to be the killer; this time there were no real suspects for the team to interrogate.
Keith Allen (Neil) played the stereotypical convict and therefore most likely to be the murderer… or is he? With the assistance of Aunt Mary, Humphrey is able to deduce who the murderer was. Having had a direct run in with the murderer, and as a result getting a bump to the head, Humphrey uses his skills at puzzles to work out how this murder was committed. Another excellent episode that will keep keep you guessing until the end!
“All along, you had to be our killer…”
