It has now been confirmed that Denzel Washington will be the 2016 recipient of the Cecil B.DeMille Award to which George Clooney , Woody Allen and Jodie Foster are previous recipients. “Washington’s long and storied career is earmarked by his countless roles in front and behind the camera,” Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Lorenzo Soria said in a statement.
The Cecil B.DeMille Award is presented to those who “have made an incredible impact on the world of entertainment”. Washington had done more than enough to convince us that he is worthy and looking back over his prosperous career it seems only right that he receives this honor. The actor, director and producer has already got several Golden Globes under his belt – one for his performance in Glory and another one for The Hurricane. He has also won an Oscar for Training Day. The 2016 Golden Globes hosted by Ricky Gervais will be aired on January 10.
