Director Ryan Coogler is in demand after the strong critical and commercial opening of Creed. The director first made a name for himself directing 2013’s Fruitvale Station and is now being considered to direct Marvel’s Black Panther film. Black panther is to be played by Chadwick Boseman and was glimpsed in the recent Captain America: Civil War trailer and is the incredibly athletic and super-smart leader of the African country of Wakanda. Black Panther will be Marvel Studio’s movie first black superhero.

Coogler’s latest film features Michael B. Jordan as Apollo Creed’s son Adonis being trained by Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa. Creed arrives in UK cinemas January 15, 2016 and could prove Coogler to be the man to bring Black Panther to the big screen.
