Dispute Over ‘Spider-Man’ Actor To Push Back ‘Captain America: Civil War’? | Film News

It appears that Sony and Marvel have come to an impasse about who should take up the mantle of Spider-Man. Rumours abound that the two companies have drawn up a three person shortlist for who should play the wall-crawling wise cracker. Tom Holland (Locke), Charlie Plummer (Not Fade Away), and Matthew Lintz (Pixels) are the most likely to play “Spidey” in the latest adaptation. But the problem is that Sony want Holland, while Marvel favour Plummer for the role, with Lintz being considered as a compromise. This is furthering speculation that the infighting may push the shooting of Captain America: Civil War from June to July.
