Ed Sheeran’s 2014 hit “Thinking Out Loud” is the centre of a legal action from Ed Townsend’s family, the co-writer of Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On”, who passed away in 2003. They are actively accusing Sheeran of directly taking the melody, rhythm and harmony compositions from the 1973 hit “Let’s Get It On”. “Thinking Out Loud” is the winner of two Grammy awards, including Song Of The Year.
This is not the first time Ed Sheeran has been under legal scrutiny, after his track “Photograph” was accused of copyright infringement over X-Factor winner Matt Cardle’s “Amazing”.
