British actor Eddie Redmayne and Mexican filmmaker Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu are hoping for continued Oscar glory in 2016 especially after the success both individuals experienced after the success at the Oscars last year.

Eddie Redmayne picked up the Oscar for best actor for his performance as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything whereas Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu won best picture for Birdman. Redmayne is hoping to secure his second Oscar nomination for the transgender drama The Danish Girl whilst Alejandro Inarritu’s The Revenant is potential Oscar 2016 hopeful for Best Picture.

Both men have left a lasting impact on the rest of Hollywood with fellow actors and filmmakers praising their creative talents. With the awards season starting soon only time will tell whether Redmayne and Inarritu are able to achieve the unthinkable and win back to back Oscars in 2016 however the desired outcome is not always inevitable as the Oscars has a notorious reputation for being unpredictable.
