Embracing a diverse range of influences, Nigerian-born artist Vasto RDL has graced the music world with a vibrant new track titled “Jolo”.
Collaborating with the talented Jamaican-Dutch artist, Inspecta General, and brought to life by producer Jo Bissau, the song was unveiled to listeners on May 29, 2023.
Blending elements of reggae, afrobeats, and Highlife melody from Nigeria and Ghana, “Jolo” emerges as an invigorating dancehall-fusion track. It brilliantly marries upbeat rhythms of afrobeats with a captivating, melodious undertone, a testament to Vasto RDL‘s innate musicality.
Vasto RDL‘s journey into music began during his formative years. Initially influenced by his father’s affinity for music, he found himself further drawn into this world through his involvement in a gospel choir. This experience not only introduced him to singing and dancing but also gave him a platform to perform in front of an audience.
By the age of 13, the burgeoning artist was making his mark on the local scene, performing at various street shows and carnival festivities. His unwavering confidence in his talents and a strong sense of determination propelled him to the forefront, as he sought to share his unique musical abilities with a wider audience.
Under the mentorship of his uncle, Aboh Lawrence Ajibo, Vasto RDL took the decisive step into his professional career. He released his debut single “Aye” on November 25, 2022, followed by “Problem” in March 2023, firmly establishing his presence in the music industry.
