Facebook Owned Oculus Rift Is ‘A Yawn’ According To James Cameron | Film News

We know two things about James Cameron, he doesn’t mix his words and he knows a thing or two about technology. So, it comes as no surprise that he has a distinct opinion on the new Ocular Rift technology. Oculus Rift was bought by Facebook and developed to create a virtual reality head mounted display that lets audiences step into the movie.

According to Joblo, on Oculus Rift, Cameron has said; “There seems to be a lot of excitement around something that, to me, is a yawn, frankly. The question that always occurred to me is, when is it going to be mature, when is it going to be accepted by the public at large, when are people going to start authoring in VR and what will that be?”. He went on to suggest that the product was just like videos games and since they already exist, was pretty much obsolete. As exiting as it is to hear about this new technology, Cameron’s got a point.
