First Teaser For Marvel’s ‘Luke Cage’ Released Online | TV News
It was recently announced that Marvel’s Luke Cage would see the light of day in September, and now we have our first look at the series in the form of an 18-second teaser.
Admittedly, it only shows Mike Colter‘s indestructible man throwing thugs through a gym window after their bullets bounce off him (he’s fed up of buying new clothes, you see). But seeing as fans of Daredevil will have just finished binge-watching the second series, Marvel are counting on the fact that they’re still experiencing hero-fever and will swallow any news of more that comes their way.
This is not the formal introduction of Luke Cage; that was done in the highly acclaimed Jessica Jones. However his own series is likely to delve into Cage’s past, explaining how he got his powers, how he came to be in Harlem during the events of Jessica Jones, and perhaps going beyond the events of that series.
Joining Colter are Mahershala Ali, Theo Rossi, Alfre Woodard and Simone Missick. The links between Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are likely going to come in the form of Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple: a character primarily connected with Daredevil but also seen in Jessica Jones. Marvel’s Luke Cage will debut on Netflix September 30 and you can see the teaser below.
