HBO has dropped the first trailer for their upcoming series Run. Created by Vicky Jones and co-executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the half-hour comedy series follows two former college sweethearts who text “RUN” to each other and meet up on a train to fulfil a pact they made 17 years earlier.
The series stars Merritt Weaver and Domhnall Gleeson, which should be a fun pairing. Gleeson has popped up in a bunch of projects over the years including Ex Machina, Brooklyn, About Time and even Star Wars, while Weaver has recently made a name for herself by starring in two Netflix limited series, Unbelievable and Godless, as well as having a minor role in Marriage Story.

Although the trailer begins with a rather ominous set up, the show should actually be the light-hearted, romantic romp many of us could do with right now. Especially considering the show is coming from Jones and Waller-Bridge, the duo behind the acclaimed Fleabag. Their involvement, and the fact that practically everyone is stuck at home right now, should lead to some big viewing figures.
Run premieres on HBO Sunday, April 12.
