Netflix has released the first trailer for their latest Original Film, a comedy/drama titled Like Father that stars Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammer. Bell stars as a workaholic executive who gets left at the altar, after which she decides to go on her honeymoon with her previously estranged father, who just came back into her life for the first time since she was five.
The film will mark the directorial debut of Lauren Miller Rogen, who also wrote and produced the film. Her husband Seth Rogen also appears in the film in a supporting role.
The trailer above looks somewhat like your standard Netflix comedy/drama, but with an added visual flair and a very impressive cast. Having produced a hit romcom last week with the surprisingly excellent Set It Up, the streaming giant will now hope Like Father punches above its weight and rejuvenates the indie dramedy in much the same way.
The film arrives on all Netflix territories Friday, August 3.
