Back in 2004 during Pixar’s golden age, Brad Bird gave us The Incredibles, which went on to garner critical acclaim and sit near the top of many people’s Pixar Best-Of lists. Now, the first trailer for the highly anticipated sequel, Incredibles 2, has arrived.
If there were any worries that a sequel would tarnish the legacy of the wonderful original film, the trailer below should extinguish any fears, as even the 91-second clip below shows the exact same tone, heart and laughs that made the original film such a hit.
This sequel revolves around Elastigirl going out into the crime-fighting field, leaving Mr. Incredible at home to do the parenting, which looks like it will continue the theme of the first film where Mr. Incredible had to realise that family was more important than playing the hero.
Their kids look to be roughly the same age as the first film, and it will be interesting to see where the story takes them as well. One would assume Dash’s arc won’t solely revolve around solving math problems for school, for example.
The film stars Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Huck Milner, Samuel L. Jackson, Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Sophia Bush and Isabella Rossellini. Incredibles 2 is scheduled to hit cinemas Friday, June 15.
