Fleabag fans rejoice! Creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge is reportedly finally working on a new series as a part of the deal she signed with Amazon Prime Video back in 2019. Unfortunately, details are being kept completely under wraps, but sources say that the project will begin filming by the end of 2022.
Fleabag only ran for two seasons but amassed critical acclaim and a huge following, earning Waller-Bridge a host of Emmy wins for the second season. Amazon quickly signed her to an exclusive deal after the show concluded, and the Fleabag follow-up has been gestating ever since. It looks like Waller-Bridge has finally come up with something.
Waller-Bridge also wrote the first season of Killing Eve and helped pen Daniel Craig‘s 007 swansong No Time To Die.
She appeared in Solo: A Star Wars Story and recently had roles in Run and His Dark Materials. She was briefly attached to star alongside Donald Glover in a Mr. & Mrs. Smith reboot for Amazon before the project fell through.
While we currently have no idea what Waller-Bridge’s new show will look like, her presence alone will see fans flock to Amazon Prime to see it, which is exactly why they signed the deal. The streamer has a number of other highly anticipated shows coming soon, with the big one being The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power.
Hopefully more concrete news regarding what Waller-Bridge’s new creation is actually about will arrive soon. If you can’t wait that long for a new project involving the multi-time Emmy winner, prepare to see Indiana Jones 5, which she has a key role in. The untitled film is currently scheduled to hit cinemas June 30, 2023.
