Florence And The Machine played a surprise acoustic gig in Sydney as a warm up show, ahead of their forthcoming headline slot at Splendour In The Grass at Byron Bay. The surprise performance (on July 23) saw 500 people turn out at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair on the city’s harbour. The band played stripped-down versions of a host of tracks from their new album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful including “What Kind Of Man” and “Queen Of Peace”. They then went on to perform “Shake It Out”, “Dog Days Are Over”, and a cover of Calvin Harris’ “Sweet Nothing” before wrapping up with “Mother”. You can watch a fan made vine of Florence talking to the crowd between songs here.
